Last year, POP Solutions won an EcoVadis gold medal for its CSR initiatives, following several years of improvement. In 2023 it has bolstered and confirmed its position.
Being responsible and involved in sustainable development today is an absolute necessity, even an obligation. Our aim is to evolve alongside our customers and suppliers to make our industry more sustainable in order to serve the common and collective interests.
The overall score awarded to POP Solutions by international assessor EcoVadis (which has conducted more than 100.000 CSR assessments in more than 175 countrires) is no coincidence.
« “This approach also aims to help our clients – brands and retailers – to achieve their goals and fulfil their non-financial reporting requirements under the European Green Deal (CSRD) and the expected European Directive on Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence. As well as the directive requiring the measurement of the environmental footprint of products (EFP), says Thierry Pauwels, Sustainability Manager at POP Solutions. »
In recent years, POP has committed to working in line with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations for 2030
Here are just some of the initiatives taken since 2021:
By making all these commitments, POP has consolidated its position among the top 2% of the 700 companies worldwide assessed by EcoVadis in the Furniture manufacturing sector.
POP Solutions is aiming to provide its customers with POS solutions that have the smallest possible carbon footprint through dialogue and integrated co-creation.
« This gold medal for POP is good news not only for the planet but also for the Group’s customers. With initiatives like this, we’re making it possible for them to objectively opt for more environmentally friendly alternatives, » he adds. This offers them another way to reduce the ecological footprint of their POS material and boost their social responsibility image.
« In 2023, we successfully implemented our eco-design initiatives thanks to a few pioneering customers.
Not only by using alternative materials but also by being able to analyse the life cycle of our products and their environmental footprint, the common objective being to co-create plans for reducing their footprint. On the supplier side, we are also working on drafting a CSR charter to which we ask them to adhere. The ultimate goal, with a view to an economy based on service functionality, is to develop POS solutions for rent », concludes Thierry Pauwels.
