Customer need

In connection with the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and to pay tribute to the 3,600 political prisoners who were detained at Fort Breendonk during the Second World War, advertising agency Happiness was commissioned to organise a symbolic commemoration at Brussels Central Station.

Young men dressed in period costume stood for an entire day in front of a wall, just as prisoners had to do upon their arrival at Fort Breendonk.

The agency needed the most realistic reconstruction of the wall possible. Like in a museum, information was to be included on the back of the wall, with a QR code leading directly to the Fort Breendonk website.

Solution(s)

POP Solutions created an imposing wooden structure over 6 metres long, on one side of which we affixed a sticker printed with two information columns made of DIBOND.

The other side of the wall was covered in real cement to resemble the Fort's original wall as closely as possible.
