With a view to overhauling equipment that had become unsuitable for use (e.g. took up too much space, difficult to use), bpost wanted to optimise the process for handling parcels from outside Belgium, given the sharp increase in the number of such parcels and new legislation requiring the taxation of parcels with a value exceeding a certain amount.
POP Solutions developed the new workstations in collaboration with bpost engineers and using the technical know-how of its experts in the group's Metal team.
An initial prototype was produced and tested in a real-life situation.
A final model was then produced and approved by bpost. 22 of these workstations were subsequently built.
